Cardiac tamponade is the decompensated phase of cardiac compression from intrapericardial fluid pressure. When the hemodynamic is compromised, an intervention such as pericardiocentesis is required. In a primarily rural region where urgent procedures are unavailable, and the duration of ground transportation is not compatible, aeromedical transportation may play an important role.

Chronic Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection often progresses to cirrhosis, which can lead to decompensation and increased morbidity. Predicting decompensation in HBV-related cirrhosis remains clinically challenging. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the utility of platelet count and its derivatives Mean Platelet Volume (MPV), Platelet Distribution Width (PDW), Plateletcrit (PCT) as markers for predicting decompensation in patients with HBV-related cirrhosis.
