One of the most common causes of pediatric medical visits is recurrent respiratory infections, which may become harmful for physical and mental health of growing children. The most common bacterial respiratory pathogen is Streptococcus pneumoniae, found in the nasopharynx with a potential to cause a broad spectrum of diseases, particularly if children are not immunized against it.
